The ideal is impossible, but we always want it to be a trap for the perfectionists, and nothing has changed for them since antiquity. My ideal is a natural form, perfect and unmanageable. Man can’t be perfect, and nature can. All a person can do is sort out, cut, limit, fragment, and only by winning, try to understand. The whole thing will be too big and too complicated to be perceived, so much beauty is impossible to embrace with reason or feelings.
